2007 Funding Alert

An Information Meeting will be held to assist organizations and to answer questions on September 20, 2007, 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the JLB Community Center, 1928 19th Street. Reservations for this meeting can be made by calling 322-1671.

The Junior League of Bakersfield (JLB) is accepting Enabling Fund Applications and Project Proposal Applications from non-profit community organizations used for the purpose of improving the welfare of women and children in Bakersfield and Kern County.

Non-profit agencies that successfully complete the Project and/or Enabling Fund Application and meet the stated criteria will be considered for funding. Enabling Funds are one-year grants ranging from $100 to $2000 for one time expenditures. Project Funds can be greater than $2000, include a Junior League Committee and can be on-going with annual renewal. Organizations applying for funds may use a variety of strategies and activities that are consistent with the JLB Mission and focus area.

Junior League of Bakersfield focus area: Child Welfare

The Junior League of Bakersfield actively supports projects in the area of Child Welfare. The following guidelines apply:

  • We believe all children are entitled to a life free from abuse and neglect.
  • We support coordinated efforts with other agencies.
  • We support education programs for children and their families.
  • We support family involvement in these efforts.

Applications can be downloaded below and are also available at the Junior League of Bakersfield office and at the Information Meeting. If you require help or have questions regarding the applications, please call the Junior League office at 322-1671. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You may leave a message after hours. The Junior League of Bakersfield has traditionally encouraged community non-profit partnerships that increase the impact of each organization.
