Enabling Fund General Information
- Grant amounts for Enabling Funds vary from year to year.
- An Enabling Fund is for non-profit programs that provide service to the community and is consistent with the purpose of the Junior League of Bakersfield (JLB). JLB’s focus area is Child Welfare, which includes issues related to at-risk, abused and neglected children, child health, and education.
- An Enabling Fund may be granted only once to an agency for the same purpose.
- An Enabling Fund may be used to purchase equipment.
- An Enabling Fund is a one-year grant ranging from $100 to $2,000.
Enabling Fund Application Procedures
- Enabling Fund proposals must be submitted to the Junior League of Bakersfield office by December 3, 2008 by 2:00pm. No applications will be accepted after this date.
- Proposals are screened and evaluated by the JLB Community Research and Projects Evaluation Committees. Recommendations for expenditures are made to the Board of Directors and General Membership for a final vote of approval. Applicants will be notified of the results by June, 2009.
- Each Enabling Fund recipient will sign a Letter of Agreement regarding the use of funds.
- Grant monies are awarded at the September 2009 JLB General Meeting.
- Recipients will submit a report to JLB upon final expenditure of funds.
